Ryan graduated from The Ohio State University located in Columbus, Ohio and The Palmer College of Chiropractic where he remained on the Dean's List. While attending The Ohio State University Dr. Ryan was selected as the Conditioning and Rehabilitation Coach for The Ohio State University Athletic Department. Dr. Ryan was selected by the Dean of Education to participate in the Honors Achievement Program. During his studies at The Ohio State University, Dr. Ryan also placed additional emphasis and effort in the development of the National Strength Coaches Association (currently called the National Strength and Conditioning Association). Dr. Ryan was also a Physical Therapy Instructor, and taught classes in Biomechanics and Applied Kinesiology. While attending The Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Ryan served as President of the Sports Medicine and Pathology Society.

Dr. David Ryan has an extensive background in both coaching and playing professional sports, and has been the team physician for several highly ranked teams. Currently he is the Medical Director and Co-Chairman for the Arnold Classic Fitness Weekend (www.arnoldclassic.com).
